So I just finished reading The Lost Symbol. I read a lot (about three mooks a month {yes mooks. I am half asleep and don’t care to change my spelling error but I apparently take no issue with rambling on about it so there}, five if I am really hating life) but this one took me about three weeks to get through. This one was unlike the other Langdon books in the sense that it was interesting straight away and didn’t try too hard to confuse the reader. I don’t know what my problem was exactly. I think it may have had something to do with the fact that I figured out the bad guy almost right away. There was no element of surprise for me as there has been with the others.
I’m not like a huge Dan Brown fan but I do enjoy reading him because his A.D.D. way of writing keeps me interested. The short chapters that jump all over the place are intriguing. I don’t know. I am just so into the sci-fi fantasy shit that I think I may have been wanting something absurd to happen in this book. It totally could have if he wasn’t so keen on writing about damn facts (no matter how interesting)!
I only have three new books to read and I am not ready to break back into the non-fiction so can anyone offer up something good to read (that I haven’t already…you may get a cookie if you can mention something I haven’t. Come on…give it a go!)? Also- has anyone else read this book and if so, what did you think? Is Dan Brown “uncool” to read? Did I further nerdorkify myself? Do I care? Not in the least. Oh wells. Night my little pretties. Throw me something yummy to read please.
